About GAZE Film Festival

This year GAZE is celebrating its 17th birthday with our most dynamic and exciting festival programme to date. The five-day cinematic showcase of Irish and International LGBT film will take place from 30th July– 3rd August at the Light House Cinema in Smithfield, Dublin.

GAZE 2009 offers a programme jam-packed with over 67 premieres, new independent features, documentaries, shorts, award winners and experimental films this August bank holiday weekend.

From its humble beginnings in 1992 (when homosexuality was still a criminal act in Ireland!), GAZE has grown from strength to strength to become the largest LGBT film event in Ireland, and one of the most respected in the world.

Join us as we make the move from IFI to the stunning Light House Cinema in Smithfield for a long weekend of inspiration, provocation, relaxation, debate and fun.
