A film that charms from its multi-coloured opening sequence, Patrik, Age 1.5 tells the story of Goran and Sven, a newly arrived gay couple in ‘Sameville' who, after a bureaucratic cock-up, adopt a different child than they were expecting.

Thinking they're getting Patrik, aged 1.5 years, instead they get Patrik, a 15 year-old homophobe with a criminal past. Backed up by a spine-tingling soundtrack, Goran and Sven begin negotiating life with their new son as he exposes the secrets hidden at the heart of their suburban neighbourhood. This hugely enjoyable, humorous and touching tale of parenting and partnership is a sure fire festival hit.

"Patrik Age 1.5 delivers a formulaic-sounding conceit with enough unpredictability and downplayed sentiment to earn its heatwarming emotions."-Variety

"Sweet-tempered and relentlessly charming. It is one of the most amusing and humane films you will see this year."-Toronto. Intl. Film Festival

I want to see this film as I'm poor and can't even afford to stock up on low cost Swedish furniture at Ikea. If I had tickets to this film though, I could get an alternative fix of Scando-licousness until times get better. Pick me please! shaneheneghan@hotmail.com
