The great gay French filmmakers, Martineau and Ducastel, who brought us the delightful Cockles and Mussels, return with their biggest and most ambitious film yet. It is a towering epic, full of life, beginning in the student revolutionary activism of Paris in 1968 and continuing through the subsequent four decades until modern times.

Catherine (French superstar Laetitia Casta) is an indomitable spirit holding steady to a communal lifestyle as her children mature and, one by one, her hippy friends leave the commune behind for a wealthier lifestyle in late 20th Century France. Encountering plenty of social issues along the way, including same-sex love, she must learn to grow with the changing times while still holding on to her ideals.

Born in '68 is an ode to activism and a powerful alternative family saga that celebrates lives less ordinary.
