This beguiling, surprising film and ultimately heartwarming story centres on Hairon, a somewhat effeminate teenager living in Denmark with his Brazilian mother and adoptive Danish father.

Harion lives with relative freedom at home, quite happily accepted (his relationship with his particularly sweet but considerably more macho stepfather is a pure example of accepting parental love) but, equally, not developing any complete sense of himself and questioning his sexuality.

This is an immediately engrossing film, twisting and turning through a gripping narrative as Hairon returns to Brazil with his mother and is reunited with his birth father, Marchello. Desperate to see him, he is quickly confronted with a man who questions Hairon's behaviour and manner. The film leads in very unexpected directions, overturning traditional views of homosexuality and gender while questioning all of our assumptions. An entirely unique father and son story, with a bit of drag performance thrown in, Let's Be Together wins our hearts quietly and completely.

This film will be screened with English subtitles.
