The GAZE Film Festival Audience Award 2011

TOMBOY wins the GAZE Film Festival AUDIENCE AWARD 2011

We are delighted to announce TOMBOY as the winner of our AUDIENCE AWARD 2011.

The competition was tough, but the achingly tender and sweetly funny coming-of-age movie, Tomboy, stood out to you GAZERS! Following closely behind in 2nd place was the charming and incredibly heart-warming For 80 Days.

Tomboy tells the story of ten year-old Laure, who moves to a new Paris suburb with her family. It's the summer holidays, and all the local kids are running riot around the neighbourhood. Boyish Laure, when first meeting with the gang, introduces herself as Michael. The other kids don't even blink. Michael it is. And so the summer fun begins, with Laure, now Michael, doing everything she can to keep her new identity secret. But as the holidays draw to an end, and the threat of school looms, things start to get complicated.

Directed with incredible tenderness by young French auteur, Céline Sciamma (Wild Lilies), Tomboy is nothing short of a perfect film. France | 2011 | 84:00 | Director: Céline Sciamma AUDIENCE AWARD WINNER - FRAMELINE - SAN FRANCISCO LGBT FILM FESTIVAL
