IRISH PREMIERE / FILMMAKER IN ATTENDANCE

With the web series format becoming increasing popular in recent years, audiences continue to move towards new methods of consuming video content. LGBTQ+ voices stand at the fore of this movement. With the exponential rise of the web series, the form has become synonymous with queer content — perhaps a correlation with the DIY ethos long associated with the LGBT community. Not yet available to stream online in Ireland, GAZE is delighted to present Anne+, fresh from Tribeca Film Festival’s NOW section — the festival’s dedicated section, which presents new online work from independent storytellers who choose to create and share their work in the online space.

A quintessential millennial story told through six standalone episodes, the Anne+ series traverses the many miscellaneous relationships and exploits of the titular character as she finds her way in the world, learning from each new experience, and reflecting on the diverse women who have had an influence on her.
