WHAT WE DO
GAZE International LGBTQ+ Film Festival has spent almost three decades bringing groups of strangers and friends together for breathtaking, mind-bending and life-affirming cinematic experiences. In 2020 we face a previously unknown challenge: how to deliver a high quality, prestigious, international queer film festival in the midst of a pandemic. One that celebrates film culture, serves our community and prioritises the health and well-being of our audiences.
Whether online or in the cinema, we are a home for a SHARED COLLECTIVE EXPERIENCE, fostering community spirit and celebrating international filmmakers through always-compelling programming.
We ADVOCATE, highlight, explore and cultivate awareness of issues facing LGBTQ+ people internationally.
We are a PLATFORM FOR CONTENT, seeking out new and emerging films and film-makers, to allow new LGBTQ+ work to find its audience. Every year we continue to present the very finest in LGBTQ+ cinema from here in Ireland and around the world, sparking many engaging conversations.
We make sure to be seen where there’s no scene. We facilitate ACCESS TO LGBTQ+ FILM so that as many people as possible across the country are able to experience the best of the Festival.
We PROMOTE cultural diversity, social inclusion, and the best of the arts, through the medium of narrative film, documentary, and short film programmes.
We SUPPORT Irish artists and filmmakers through our shorts programme, GAZE Film Awards and our professional filmmaking workshops.
Please help us continue to do this for many more years by making a donation - safe in the knowledge that every contribution allows us to present the best of LGBTQ+ cinema from around the world.
